When is the South going to grow up and realized that their small minded, racially backwards, bigotted society is the most backwards in all of America? Where do they get off treating people differently for any reason? How have we as Americans not bombed the everliving f%ck out of these religious extremists instead of the poor Muslims? Speaking of Muslims, we should sick these twisted racists on the Taliban…it would rid us of two thorns in our side.
I feel better now. Seriously, how sad is this? Why do humans hate each other for the simple fact that they have differences? People, for the love of everything holy, treat your fellow humans with respect and dignity.
Give people time and you can find better reasons to hate them than their racial/ethnic/religious differences. Bigots are just lazy.
On another note, I think the photographer for that article is someone from my high school.
interesting how the deep south is the only area nationally considered solidly Republican….just a thought!
I guess It is okay in the South to go to Church one day and revel in Christian beliefs and then just leave it all there at the church and live as intolerant people haters the rest of the week!
I appreciated the heavy references to KFC throughout the article.
Also, quickly, the bulk of the armed forces working in the Middle East are comprised of Southerns and Mid Westerners, just a thought.
I also noticed in the Times article that the white kids didn’t text back their so-called “black friends” from the prom when it was a wrap… that’s kinda fucked up. What was also fucked up: The blacks making biting, catty remarks about the whites, referencing tans and “lame”ness.
To me, both sides not-so-secretely hate each other, but are outwardly friendly, in the sense of “Oh, I have black friends!”
As long as there’s people, there will be hatred over differences, even when our decedents have fucked themselves collectively “gray” they’ll find differences to ostracize each other for. I’d like to make a literary point and bring the example of Dr. Seus’s “The Sneeches.” If you’re not familiar with the story, go look it up.
Try fucking living there dude.
